HEADQUARTERS SEVENTH UNITED STATES ARMY OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL APO 758, U.S. ARMY
21 January 1946
SUBJECT: Letter of Appreciation
TO: Commanding Officer, 333rd Special Service Engineer Regiment, APO 175, U.S. Army.
1. I wish to express to you my appreciation and commendation for the excellence of the dedication ceremony of the General Alexander M. Patch highway bridge and the General George C. Marshall railway bridge.
2. I am very cognizant of the multitude of details and obstacles that you had to overcome in the arrangements for a ceremony of such importance and size. The flawless manner in which the ceremony was carried out indicated that you and your staff had worked untiringly and enthusiastically on the preparation of the plans.
3. Not only do I want to express my appreciation to your staff for the fine ceremony, but for the excellence of the construction in both bridges. From all indications and reports, you have performed an enviable engineering feat -- one fitting to the ceremony of the great Americans to whom the bridges were dedicated.
